3rd June 2009, Staffordshire, UK – Stone Group, a leading IT provider and the UK’s largest privately owned computer manufacturer, has further extended its range of services by announcing that it is now an official Toshiba Authorised Service Provider. Toshiba laptop customers can now have their devices repaired under the terms of the manufacturer’s warranty at Stone’s service facilities in Staffordshire.
In order to qualify as a Toshiba Authorised Service Provider, Stone’s engineers had to complete Toshiba’s comprehensive service training and testing program. As part of the evaluation process, Toshiba conducted a site visit, assessing Stone’s facilities to ensure they offered all of the necessary resources to successfully manage warranty repair work conducted on Toshiba laptops.
Commenting on the announcement, James Bird, Stone Group’s CEO said: “The accreditation from Toshiba further extends Stone’s ability to serve an even broader range of customers. It is also a reflection of the investment Stone has made in engineers and facilities in order to meet the levels of service and repair quality that customers have come to expect of a respected brand like Toshiba.”

It recently announced that it has won BECTA’s mini-competition to provide Fixed, Portable and Ultra Portable devices to schools and Local Authorities (LA) participating in the Home Access to ICT for Targeted Groups initiative. This award secures Stone’s position as a major supplier to the education sector, with the company expected to supply up to 80% of the ICT equipment purchased under the programme.
