Welcome to the Local Authority portal on the Stone Group Website. Stone Group has developed strong relationships within Local authorities over the past 16 Years building an enviable reputation within the sector.

The objective of this portal is to give local authorities a reference point for products and services that fall in line with the Harnessing Technology Grant. Stone have developed a number of new product sets that fall outside of the standard manufactured product traditionally supplied by Stone Group.

Products sets such as E Safety, Digital Signage, Caching, Asset Management and Video Conferencing are fast becoming main stream within local authorities, whilst they are reviewing ICT in schools. The Stone Group has formed partnerships with key vendors to deliver a collaborative approach under the BECTA infrastructure framework; if a product or service is not shown within the site please contact your account manager or sales team as Stone Group aim to cover all products and services that Local Authorities will require.

I would welcome feedback on the new site and product groups within it. Stone Group believe the best way to develop products and services is to listen to customers and deliver what they need.

Asset management:
Stone is one of a small number of Parago best practice asset management software partners. Developed specifically for schools and colleges, Parago is a powerful, easy to use computer discovery and software asset management system. Web-based, the system enables schools to track their computers, software and all other assets both on the school site and at home.

Web caching:
As an Equiinet CachePilot partner, Stone is well placed to offer LEAs the most effective smart content delivery for their learning platforms. Designed for schools, CachePilot is an all-in-one smart content delivery solution that can handle any elearning package, regardless of its size, content provider or available bandwidth. CachePilot stores, updates and delivers static and dynamic content locally, enabling simultaneous access by multiple PCs.

Web filtering and security:
Stone partners with Equiinet SecurePilot to secure school and college networks against internal and external attacks. We also provide effective large-scale filtering against inappropriate web access. SecurePilot combines a number of threat management tools, including an advanced firewall, into a single secure appliance that guards against internal and external hacking as well as protecting inter-school communications.

FITS Training:
LEAs need to be confident that their investment in ICT infrastructure is matched by the support it receives from well-trained staff. Stone can provide Framework for ICT Technical Support (FITS) training based on many years of providing technical support to education.
